So I’ve decided that this year I need some appropriate footwear. I would like to find something I can simply slip on when needed. I’ve also recently decided that it would be a good idea to find something with some sort of grippy sole that will help to grind up the bottom of my mud pits… I thought about a pair of cleats, which seem like the ideal kind of shoe for this purpose…
Hundreds of dollars for shoes is a bit much for my tastes, especially since these things are going to spend most of their time in the mud… So what else is there? Well, the following photo shows some nice water shoes. They’re probably more light weight and will probably handle stomping through the mud better…
I found something very similar to that one for about $20 which is more in line with my available budget! They will no doubt come in handy for grinding up the hard bottom of Truck Hole Trail.
Wetsuit?
Another item I’ve been interested in getting my hands on is a good quality, yet relatively lightweight, wetsuit… Now I know these things don’t have the same stretch as spandex does, although some of them contain spandex… They’re really expensive, but I love the idea of filling them with stuff while not having it all seep out while I’m fooling around… And they look really awesome!
But again, they’re pretty friggin expensive for someone with no money. I guess I’ll have to keep dreaming.
